ZIDD is designed around the principle that digital discipline shouldn't require handing over everything you do on your phone.

1. Core Architectural Truths

ZIDD enforces digital discipline purely through local system boundaries on Android. We reject the prevailing business model of harvesting personal behavioral exhaust.

No Keystroke LoggingWe do not inspect text inputs, passwords, credit cards, or written notes.
No Message ReadingZero reading or scraping of SMS, WhatsApp, Telegram, or email contents.
No Screen Captures or URLsNo background screenshots, video recordings, or browser URL history capture.
Local Policy StorageApp settings and limits remain stored in your device's local encrypted Room database.

2. Camera Pose Detection & Computer Vision

When you elect to participate in physical movement friction (such as 10 squats to earn screen time), ZIDD accesses the front-facing camera solely for real-time joint coordinate estimation.

  • Transient RAM Processing: Camera frames are processed strictly in volatile device memory (RAM) via an on-device pose estimation model.
  • Zero Storage: No photographic images or video recordings are ever written to disk or device storage.
  • Zero Network Transmission: Camera stream data is never transmitted across the network or uploaded to any cloud server.
  • Immediate Discard: As soon as a frame is analyzed for joint angles, it is immediately garbage collected.

3. Android System Permissions & Purpose

Accessibility Service:Used exclusively to detect when a monitored application enters the foreground, allowing ZIDD to immediately render the intervention pause shield before distraction starts.
Display Over Other Apps (Overlay):Required to render the mindful pause screen, breathing timers, and friction challenge modals over target distracting apps.
Usage Access:Used to calculate daily usage stats and ensure accurate deduction from your Earned Time Wallet.
Optional Location (Workplace Mode):If and only if you explicitly configure Workplace Mode, geofencing coordinates of your workplace are checked to activate office focus policies. Location is never tracked continuously or shared with third parties.

4. Family Cloud Sync

In Family Mode, parent and child devices communicate via Firebase Cloud Firestore. Transmitted data is strictly limited to device pairing tokens, active policy configuration rules, and high-level earned time balances. No detailed application usage records, personal communications, or browsing histories are synced.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

You have the absolute right to purge your data at any time. For Self Mode users, clearing app data or uninstalling ZIDD permanently erases all local logs. For Family Mode users, deleting the family profile from the parent app instantly purges cloud tokens. Visit our Account Deletion Portal for step-by-step instructions.
